With feelings -- lots of feelings -- still lingering from last season for most owners, the Sun Baseball League's 2014 draft won't go off without a little reminiscing.
The start of last season was blundered by multiple parties whose stank permeated every orifice of the 2013 season.
Ryan Braun's departure from reality left a gaping whole in one team's lineup -- the Pontiffs' -- and a whole in everyone's hearts.
And to top it off the season won by the league's commissioner -- raising all sort of alarm flags that, much like Kim Jong Un's hairstyle, the men of this league are forced to accept as the new normal.
Is there any reason (please let there be a reason!) to expect this season to be any different?

It's a day on which seasons are both won and lost. A day during which chili gastro and Starlin Castro collide. And it's less than 15 hours away.
To those of us who will be in Chino Hills tonight -- I look forward to seeing your increasingly wrinkled faces.
To those of you elsewhere -- eat your beef jerky on your fat couches and feel deep shame. Especially you, owner of DamianUnited, the latest in a long line of no-shows this year.

Owners Dropping Like (Pop) Flies
Looks like this year's version of the Sun Baseball League draft could be the most sparsely attended to date.
With owners of the Zero's, Godfathers and Derelicts already confirmed no-shows, now comes word that the owner of the Bat-Faced Barristers will not be there because he apparently feels a need to be respondible to his famly and his job.
That makes at least four owners -- or one-fourth of the league -- who will not be in Chino Hills on Thursday night.
The Barristers' lack of representation will not matter nearly as much, however, as the late arrival of the owner of the Pontiffs, who has live-blogged the event each of the last three seasons to the benefit of those owners in far-flung locales which now, apparently, includes the Barristers.
